“Desis” can be defined as people originating mainly from the Asian subcontinent countries of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh who are based overseas – for example such people in America are called as “Desis”. The word is used more colloquially (in conversation, rather than in writing). The word also carries a slang connotation to it and is used in some specific contexts.
