The Firefox website reports that as of yesterday Firefox reached 400 million downloads of its web browser. Launched in November 2004 Firefox has come a long way.
Here is a snapshot of its journey:
• In 99 days of its launch it had reached 25 million downloads.
• In the next 6 months it reached 50 million downloads.
• In 1 year of its launch it had reached 100 million downloads.
• 1 year ago that number had doubled to 200 million downloads.
• Today Firefox has reached 400 million downloads.
Congratulations to Firefox and the people involved with its development. Thanks to its tabbed browsing feature, a faster browsing experience and an overall good product, Firefox is a winner. It is a browser that is devoid of pop ups and a browser that does not infect your system with viruses and spyware. In three years time it has made rapid strides. And finally it is the browser I prefer and use for my daily browsing.
