As you know as John Chow reviewed my blog on June 23. I got a lot of feedback asking me why I pay him so much money to review my blog. Well, I’m a college student and I know it takes money to make money and in my opinion I believe I made a smart investment.

Even though the surge of traffic didn’t last long, I still got exposed to a lot of readers. By paying John to review my blog I proved to everyone that I am a serious blogger and by showing my research I showed that I know what I did.
John Chow Effect
I consider my self to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are risk takers, and by paying for the expensive review I took a risk. I knew I wasn’t guaranteed a return on that money I paid but at least I did my homework on what was expecting.

If you are one of those who doubt that the paid review was a bad investment then look through the site a bit more. People are actually commenting a lot on my posts. I reply back and forth with them so this blog has become a lot more active before the paid review.

It doesn’t stop there, according to MyBlogLog, I have over 130 members in my community, plus I am in the ~16,000 rankings on Technorati. Not only that, my blog is now in the top 100,000 sites in the world on Alexa, and that’s without being in any Alexa train. At this rate I’m expecting in getting a PageRank 5 in the upcoming PR update since my ranking boost was done all honestly. Therefore, I don’t think I made a bad investment because new people are coming to check out my blog more and more, even from sites that I didn’t pay for a paid review from.

The advice of “Desi Baba” is out and it’s spreading and I’m just happy I got the active users that I have now. People find my posts useful and helpful so there’s no reason to look back.

As mentioned earlier I expect to get a PageRank 5 in the next PR update, I compared my site with TylerCruz.com, since I’m catching up with his site, and currently he has a PageRank 5.

I remember and I agree with Phil when he reviewed my blog, he said:

If the quality of posts on Blogging with Desi Baba remains as high as they are now, it’s sure to become heavily visited member of the blogosphere.

I’m hoping that this blog will increase more and more as time passes.

So, tell me, do you think I made a good investment or a bad investment?
