I currently launched a new site, TechFig.com, and it’s basically a social news site revolving around technology. I did this because I haven’t seen a social news site on the web that’s related just to the tech industry. Digg does have news on technology; however, along with it comes pointless news, and to me it gets annoying. Not only that a lot of Digg users favor Apple news and that’s really unfair, and that’s what got me to create the site.

My plan is to have this social news site up and running within a week. Right now this just started and I’m currently working on getting more news and the template synced. I haven’t marketed the site yet other than right now, to the Desi Baba readers.

Currently I’m using the Pligg platform and so far it’s working great, even though it’s in the beta version. Pligg is new and therefore there aren’t that many Digg clone Pligg sites. I know with time and with news added constantly this site will grow quickly so, let’s see what happens.
