I stumbled upon Abhishek’s blog on marketing and technology and was surprised and pleased to learn that Desi Notes has made it to the top 15 blogs of India (blogged by Indians)! It is at the 10th place out of 15 blogs. This is motivating. Abhishek has used a combination of rankings of Alexa, Technocrati, Bloglines and Google’s pagerank in order to come up with the overall rankings of the best blogs in India. He also considered 30 of the top technorati blogs having the tag “India” in them. Oddly few of Desi Notes posts are focused on India. Of course most of the 15 that have made it to the list focus on technology, internet and money making and are blogged by Indians. Amit Agarwal’s Digital Inspiration is at # 1 and very deservedly so. His blog has over 13,000 subscribers and the content is definitely very good.

I personally feel that Desi Notes has still a long way to go. The blog could have some random posts with India as the focus. A category by the name of “India Notes” has already sprung up. Blogging in India is just taking off with Internet becoming popular and there will be top class blogs surfacing on the blogoshpere in the days to come. So staying in the list is challenging and will not be easy.
