Having a Mission – A Goal is so important, so vital. Most of us go through life with no mission at all – No dreams. Many a time I have also lived with no specific mission or vision, but the point is we should at least make an effort to live our lives with some purpose, some focus, some goals, some dreams and aspirations.

Do you have a Mission? If you don’t then I suggest you make an effort to have a mission. If you can’t have your entire life’s vision at least have a mission for the next 365 days or for the next few months. Call this a short term mission. Ideally speaking you should have your entire life laid out. Whether your life develops along the path of your mission is another thing; however it’s good to have a mission.

What are you planning to do over the next few months? What are your priorities and what do you intend to achieve and in which realm of your life? If you take away 8 hours of sleep time you are left with 16 hours. That’s not much at all and if you have not planned your day, your short and long term goals your life can be all useless. The reason you must have a mission is that it can give you focus. And focus gives you the drive to achieve your mission.

No Mission/No Goals/No Ambitions = No Drive/No Focus = Poor Results!

Here is how I have it laid out for up to the end of this year.

I’ll try to establish myself in my career. I just changed my job. I am in my mid 30’s and this is a crucial phase.

I’m gonna spend some quality time with my 3 month old daughter, my better half and with my folks whenever time permits me.

I’ll spend at least an hour a day (possibly more) on this blog and dream of taking this blog to higher levels. Sunny mentioned that this blog has around 120 subscribers. I would like to see this figure go to say at least 175 by the end of this year.

I’ll try to get fitter – Not that I am sick now! I will try to drive away my recurring Allergic Rhinitis. It’s a condition that has bothered me for 30 years. And I intend to do this through alternative therapies and not through drugs.

Better write down your mission – Short Term and Long Term. Your short term mission will often depend on your vision and mission for the long term.

A life without a mission is like a ship without a rudder.

Do you have a Mission in your life?
