The truth is no matter what we do every decision we make ties with how we can benefit from that decision. There is no such thing as making a decision or doing anything just of the hell of it, it all relates to how a person can benefit from it.

For example, in a marriage, both spouses stay with one another because they benefit from each other by making each other happy; their benefit is happiness. Religious people do righteous deeds so they’ll please the Almighty and have easier entry to the heavens; they don’t do any good deeds if they didn’t benefit from them. Another example would be wars, countries wage wars on other countries for the benefit for more land to benefit their economy and to increase their powers.

Every action we make comes with the expectation that some reward will come out of it for our benefit. No matter what our intentions will always have a constant desire to reward ourselves for whatever decisions we make for ourselves or for others.
