Look at the picture below, it’s a light pole bended in the campus of Georgia State University in Downtown Atlanta. If I was a prospective student looking at colleges and if I saw that pole then I would look at another college. However, I didn’t see that pole when I went to my freshman orientation 4 years ago. The damaged pole gives a bad impression of the campus. The pole looks as if it will fall over if not now, then may be as time passes as its ground foundation degrades with time Even, as of today, the Atlanta City government hasn’t fixed this damaged pole.
Get a Good First Impression in Blogging
In another area of the street there was a one way sign, which had its top screw fall off so, the sign slid 180 degrees vertically, to be up-side-down; therefore, the arrow was pointed the opposite way. Funny as it may seem, it’s not a good impression to people who are new to the area.

Get a Good First Impression
When a reader first comes to your site, make sure that reader sees your best. The articles organization, the template colors, the ease of navigation, etc. must be set up to the best of your abilities. Everyone has a different way to impress others and to actually improve or find out if your giving a good impression, try adding a poll in your blog to get feedback from your visitors.

Getting a good first impression from your readers is very important. If you get a bad first impression then you’ve lost a chance to gain a new loyal reader. You want loyal readers and lots of them and the only way to get them is by showing a great blog and you want to do that from their first glimpse of your site. If you showed a bad first impression of your blog like I did to some of my old readers, when I first started out, then those who have a bad impression of your blog will not respect your content not will they support you.

To actually fully understand this concept, compare blogging with meeting a new friend. If you were introduced to a drug addict by one of your other friends then you will have a negative first impression of that person. And it’ll be very hard to respect that person in the near future.

So, do you agree?
