Today Google is to host a developer conference of for over 5,000 developers worldwide. The developers will be gathered at the San Jose convention.

According to TechCrunch:

At the conference Google will be outlining their developer strategy. But the big announcement will be Google Gears, an open source browser plugin that will enable developers to create offline web applications using JavaScript APIs. As a developer, you’ll be able to make an application with the assurance that it will work offline and online across browsers.

Google applications to work offline is great news for Google fans. I’m hoping some offline Google applications can replace the application created by Microsoft. On the web, Google services has showed to work better than Microsoft’s and since Google will finally bring their applications to work offline, I’m hoping Microsoft would improve their offline applications.

Google is doing an excellent job promoting their APIs. When you think about it, if a company gives third-party access to their technologies to develop third-party softwares, then the company benefits in indirect marketing. With the Google buzz everywhere, letting these developers develop applications with Google APIs will only advance Google, and take the company to advanced levels all over the world.
