Everyone who has read this blog since last year knows that I broke the $1000/month barrier with AdSense. By doing so it gave me the green light to spend; and so I did, in a very stupid way. With all the AdSense money I earned, I didn’t spend one dime investing in marketing until now. For that mistake I had to work hard to gain traffic.

Traveled
I love traveling in USA. The feeling of arriving at the airport to get out of Atlanta, my hometown you could say, feels great. I made about 5 trips to New York City; each trip costing me at least $500 plus other things, including hotel stay, transportation, and food.

I also made a trip to Michigan. However, since I have relatives living up there, I only had to pay around $230 for the airline tickets. The rest, as in a place to stay and food and traveling there, were all taken care of by my relatives.

Bought a Laptop
I bought an Acer Aspire 1690 for $806 including shipping and taxes. The reason I bought it was to blog while I was in school and also to take care of my online business when I’m traveling. Right now that laptop has crashed and it’s just sitting in the corner of my room collecting dust. I’ll soon get it fixed but for now I use my desktop.

College Tuition
I payed around $3900 for two semesters of my college tuition. I think this was my greatest investment with AdSense, since I lost my scholarship due to my partying so, AdSense came along and payed for it. I value education a lot now than ever before so, paying for education with AdSense money was a great investment.

Bought a Desktop
I payed around $300 for a Dell desktop computer from Craigslist.org. In my opinion, I think this was also a great investment. The computer I bought was used and yet it has no troubles; obviously not, since it is a Dell.

While I was earning my online income from AdSense I didn’t have any part time job. I was being a slacker and I stopped looking for other ways of earning an income. I could’ve made a smart decision of investing at least $1000 in marketing, but I didn’t, I invested on other things of pleasure. I made that mistake and now I’m learning from it.

Don’t make the same mistake and do what I did with my online income. I didn’t realize then that the online income came from an actual business, as in you should to take what you earned and reinvest it to your business. I didn’t realize that fact till later and now for that mistake it has slowed me down for a while. If I invested some of that money on this blog than on my pleasure then DesiNotes.com could’ve been in Technorati’s top 100 by now. Oh well, you live and learn, and I learned a lot; a business is business whether it’s online or in reality.

So, how did you spend your AdSense money?
