For those who don’t know, Technorati.com is a blog directory site that ranks over 55 million blogs. All bloggers know Technorati.com because their blogging software pings, as in notifies, Technorati.com automatically as soon as they post their first blog. A blog’s ranking on Technorati.com all depends on the number of other blogs that are linked to it.

I wrote this post targeting only bloggers. If your site is not a blog then it won’t work because Technorati.com is a directory only for blogs. DesiNotes.com is my first blog and it’s a young site so, I am not a blogging expert; however, I have read and read and I am applying different things to expose my blog more and more to the web.

Now, with over 55 million blogs on Technorati’s network, it can be easy or it can be very hard for an average blogger to raise his/her blog to a higher ranking to be successful. It’s hard to get other blogs to link to your blog all of a sudden; but getting others to link to you slowly will actually get Google to like you. Yeah, it’s true; if you slowly gain inbound links, when other sites link to your site, then Google will start to favor your site. If you quickly gain inbound links quickly and your site is new then Google may suspect something, such as a special linking software, and they will not favor your site.

Getting to the point, you need a way to manually get other bloggers to link to your site. A simple email to request other bloggers to link to your blog isn’t going to do you any good. The only thing that worked for me to raise my ranking on Technorati.com is BlogCarnival.com. This site offers bloggers to submit their blog posts to different blogs based on the subject of their posts. For example, I submitted my post Finally! My $1,400+ Payment for October from AdSense to the blog carnival of Wealth Building World and Technorati tracked it automatically and counted as a blog linking to my site, leading my blog to have a higher rank on its network.

StevePavlina.com started out using BlogCarnival.com and he makes around $30,000 a month. So, basically this method works and I recommend you bloggers to use this free service to get a higher ranking on Technorati.com, which will lead to more traffic to more money.
