In my years in college and in work I realized that public transportation may not be the best way to travel; however, when it comes to my money and time it is the best.

If you live in cities that offer public transportation such as Atlanta, New York, Chicago, then I suggest you use public transportation to save money and time for your self.

MARTA

I traveled to Downtown Atlanta almost everyday. Downtown is about 15-20 miles from my home in Roswell/Alpharetta. To drive to Downtown Atlanta I have to go through two highways: GA-400 and I-85 southbound. Traffic on GA-400 highway and on I-85 will take me about an hour and a half or may be more to travel by car, but if I travel by public transportation I can arrive there in about 30-45 minutes because the train bypasses the traffic. So, to drive to and back from Downtown Atlanta it would take me a total of about three hours, but if I take public transportation then it would take me a maximum of one hour and thirty minutes total travel time for the day. So, I save about an hour and thirty minutes of my travel time. Also, gas prices are high and it woud take alot of gas to sit through the traffic so, I may as well use public transportation’s gas; bus’s gas.

I just have to pay only $1.75 for a fare on public transportation, in New York it’s $2.00. If you, the comsumer, compare your day-to-day gas comsumption by driving through heavy traffic, you will realize that it adds up alot and public transportation cuts your gas spending by more than 50%.
