I know you’ve probably heard that a blog becomes great because it has quality posts. But to some of you beginners may wonder, what the hell do they mean when they say quality posts? When I started out blogging I put the thought of writing “quality” articles in my head, but I didn’t know where to begin. After reading other high-end blogs I learned to write quality posts. So, I wrote this article to point out and explain what is a quality post and how to write one.

How to Write a Quality Post

1. Topic. Think of a topic you know a lot about; whether you know a lot about a certain site, if you were reviewing it, or a product that you read about or tested. The main thing is to figure out if you know enough about the topic. If you don’t know much about the topic then research it, Google it.

2. Introduce it. When you write, introduce what the topic is about. Try not to make it very long but describe it well. Make sure it’s clear enough as if you were to explain it to a random person.

3. Emphasize the high points. Emphasize the high points of your topics. Don’t delay and make your posts long by adding sentences, just get to the point. Blog readers are on the go so, do your best to avoid writing unnecessary sentences. Point out the important concepts of your topics.

4. Take the time. You would be surprised how long it takes me to write some of my articles. I usually spend 45 minutes to 2 hours writing one article. The more time you spend rephrasing some of your sentences the better. Sometimes, if you read your article the third time or may be the fourth time you get an idea of what you can do to improve it. So, spare a few hours to write your articles, it’s worth it.

5. Correct spelling and grammar. I know I made a lot of grammar and spelling errors in my past articles, but I slowed down my frequency of writing articles and took the time to correct those errors. Having good spelling and grammar in your posts is beneficial in the long run. Do your best to correct all spelling and grammar mistakes in your article; remember, you’re writing to people like yourself so, write properly.

6. Read it to yourself. Read your article to yourself over and over again. Make sure it makes sense to you, if not then restructure it. Rewrite some sentences in your article that don’t make sense. When you read it to yourself make sure you can read your article to someone else and he or she can understand what you’re talking about. I read this article, which you’re reading, over 5 times before publishing it.

I hope this helps a lot of you to learn to write quality articles if you don’t know how to. I know some of you may feel shy or you may think it’s a stupid to ask what a quality post is, but it’s not; no question is a stupid question. The more you understand good writing skills the better you can write. Do you agree?
