I read a blog post on Willow’s Web and I strongly agree with the main points on the post.

Truely, laughing often with friends and family is very healthy for an individual. Laughing can help a person get through rough times. The best thing I ever did when I was in depression was hang out with friends; it was hard to get up and join them but once I was with them I was laughing and having fun and I forgot about my depression for the time being.

Depression is very unhealthy and dangerous for anyone. When I was under depression I didn’t feel like eating, I didn’t feel like going to school, I avoided my friends, I didn’t feel like doing anything.

Laughter

After a while I learned that I can’t let one depressing event take over my entire life and risk my future so, I sought to find a way to break way from this barrier that kept me from enjoying my life. I read various articles and thought of ways that could cheer me up.

Laughter is the best medicine for depression. No pills or drinks are better than laughter. Laughing often got me to feel better about my self. I became more productive with my day-to-day activities and I felt better about who I am.

Based on my experience, these are the things that a person can do to break away from depression:

- Spend time with friends and family such as going on outings
- Watch comedy movies such as “Nacho Libre”
- Watch comedy shows like “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”
- Go to live comedy shows like Intense Comedy tours

The following is a video of a live show of an Indian-Canadian comedian Russel Peters. This video is very hilarious and it will cheer you up if you are down.

Life is short so, we should appreciate what we have and keep our heads up and laugh often.
