The worlds thin LCD TV’s are getting thinner by the day. Samsung is set to come out with their 10-mm (0.39-inch) thin, 1080p, 40-inch LED-backlit, Full HD LCD TV panel. It will consume just 90 watts of power. This is supposed to become the world’s thinnest TV when it hits stores soon. Soon we will know the price details. Don’t expect it be reasonably priced though.
Hitachi has just launched in Japan three new LCD models with 35mm thickness called the “Wooo UT Series”. So the Macbook that you are reading at is thicker than this. Both the Full HD versions are using a Twice Velocity Panel of 120MHz, and will be available early 2008. All feature just a single HDMI input since Hitachi has moved the tuner into an external Wooo Station box with 3x HDMI inputs, SD slot, removable iVDR-S storage, LAN and optional ($785) UWB module for up to 9-meters of wireless delivery.
And then there is news that some Plasma TV manufacturers are working on a 1mm thickness panel! Well we have seen and experienced mobile phones getting slimmer, now get set to experience ultra thin LCD and Plasma TV’s. They are just getting sexier.

And Sony have developed a flexible screen that you could put pretty much anywhere! Google “Sony flexible screen” or similar.
