Actually, it’s a very big deal. EMI’s videos will now be legally uploaded to YouTube, not illegally. And since they will be legal, artists will get paid for them. When YouTube users upload videos, it’s illegal and artists don’t get paid. So yes, it’s a very big deal.

You really think it’s gonna matter. I mean the illegal uploads of music videos are already there, the only difference is the legal matter, which I don’t think YouTube users care much about.

sunny you gotta think man..NOT ALL MUSIC videos are uploaded in youtube..You are thinking about one side in here..As TBD mentioned if the music videos are licensed then artist will get paid for it..

What I’m saying is, the music videos that are demanded are already uploaded.

If new videos are uploaded legally then YouTube users won’t upload them illegally, because they don’t have to do the work.

Not only that people can download those videos and share them without paying. So, wouldn’t EMI loose money by that?

loose money how?? Have you forgot how Television programs get to work when viewers are watching it for free? Youtube system will be the same. Artist will get paid based on public views.

Yes, Lament is right. Even though YouTube users can download movies, they are still being tracked, so YouTube knows when you have watched the videos. Since there will soon be ads in videos, artists will get paid for them, and EMI will get to promote their content all LEGALLY. This is a huge deal, all in all.

And yes, I think it really matters. YouTube users may not care about it, but Google, EMI and the rest of the industry does.
