What thought to be a sci-fi movie fictional gadget is now a reality. Sony Corporations has developed a monitor so thin that you can bend it while displaying full color video.

The picture above is a 2.5 inch display of Sony’s razor-thin display. The display is very very thin; how thin you may ask, how about 0.3 millimeter which is about 0.01 inch. I don’t know about you, but that’s really thin!

This type of display can only be created using Sony’s current organic technology called TFT, thin film transistor, combined with organic electroluminescent display, according to Sony. Yeah, I know, big complicated words, and I don’t get what it means.

Even though this technology is a great breakthrough in science, it is yet to give the same great quality of video like LCD and plasma displays. More research and development are still needed before it is released for consumer or commercial use.
