Watch this video of a train commute in the city of Mumbai, India’s commercial and financial capital. It is how the average man travels to work every day. The train ride might be of anything between 15 minutes to more than an hour. It is rare to find a train that is not crowded. Mumbai has an estimated population of 18 million people of which 1 million people live in Greater Mumbai, the rest in metropolitan Mumbai. Population density is around 45,000 persons per square kilometer. More than 50% of Mumbai’s population is from outside the state of Maharashtra. Nearly half of Mumbai’s population lives in slums. Mumbai offers ample employment opportunities but you start your work life in Mumbai like in this video, unless you make it fast and move up the corporate ladder. Come rain or shine, Mumbai is one city that never sleeps.

That’s crazy! People must be falling off all the time, aren’t they?
