Visual progress such as rankings and back-links is a perfect motivation for bloggers working their way up. I chose Technorati.com ranks as my visual to motivate myself to blog more and more.

As you go through my profile for DesiNotes.com on Technorati you can see the ranks and how many links from blogs are going to my site. That is the visual progress that I see which is helping me stay motivated.

Others use Alexa.com as their visual progress for motivation. I don’t quite recommend Alexa because they won’t update the stats everyday for a site unless that site is in the their top 100,000 sites rankings.

If you feel as if you’re not going anywhere with your site, then use a public ranking site to see where you are on the web. Seeing is believing as it is told, if you can see your self as number one in those rankings then you can get to be number one; try it, you have nothing to loose.
