Vista has a lot of hardware/software conflicts right now, but it's only a few months old. Don't you remember how XP and its iterations were when it launched? Now obviously Vista is a complete rehash from XP, so it's bound to have an abnormally high amount of conflicts, but give it time. Of course they are having problems. There are a lot of other device and application (hardware and software) conflicts that Microsoft has no control over. You can't expect a new OS to compete against something that was launched 6 years ago and is "perfect" after thousands of patches and revisions. It has nothing to with Vista.
