What I’ve learned over the years about marketing is that you don’t have to pay to have your site on top. You can take simple steps to bring traffic to your site for FREE. The best place to have your site listed is in the top three listed sites of Google’s organic results. Optimizing your site for Google to crawl easier through your site can bring you great amount of traffic. If you implement these methods to your site then I can guarantee that your site will gain certain amount of traffic.

1) Choose special keywords that your site is related to. Don’t guess the keywords go to http://www.wordtracker.info sign up for their free trial and look for words that your site is related to. Choose keywords that have little to no competition with your site and other sites. That means chose keywords that have small numbers in the WordTracker results.

In the area between <title> and </title> put your important selection of keywords and DO NOT put yourname.com because that will get you no where.

In the <meta name=”description” content=”a little about your site”> in 200 words or less put a little descriptive, grammatically correct sentence about your site.

In the <meta name=”keyword” content=”your site’s keyword”> put some keywords that explain your site; limit it to around 250 characters. Some say this meta tag is overlooked by search engines; however, it’s not overlooked by Yahoo Search engines and Yahoo.com is the #1 ranked site in the world, above Google, according to Alexa.com.

In the body area put keywords that are between
<h1> and </h1>
or
<h2> and </h2>
or
<h3> and </h3>
because those words are given more attention by search engines. Also your words that are between <strong> and </strong> or <b> and </b> will be give alot of attention by search engines.

As for images, if you have to embed an image with the code <img src=”image.jpg” mce_src=”image.jpg” alt=”keyword” title=”keyword”> make sure you have keywords in the alt and title tag within the code. Search engines cannot read graphics they can only read words so, put keywords in your body as many times as you can.

After you have implemented all the areas with your selected keywords you can analyze your site or you can analyze a certain page on your site with a keyword density tool from http://www.ranks.nl/tools/spider.html and check to see if you have done enough to get search engines’ attention. Also, be patient, it will not work right away nor will it work overnight. Give it a bit of time and you will see results.
