Now that we’re clear on the word “frequency” let’s dive right in to blogging frequency. Not every blog has a frequency, blogs that don’t update often don’t really have much of any frequency. For example, this blog, DesiNotes.com, is updated at least once per day so, the frequency for this blog is one post per day.
Importance of Blogging Frequency
Blogging often is good habit for serious bloggers. Having a blog frequency gives readers a way to predict that a blog is active and no matter what, that blog will be updated. When a bog has a posting frequency the blog won’t be in question whether it will be updated or not. Some blogs are updated every three days, others every two days, and a good number of blogs are updated everyday.
Having a frequency revolves around a blog being updated. A blog without updates is pretty much a dead blog and dead blogs are worthless and no ones pays attention to them. Readers are hungry for news and as bloggers who want to reach it the top should give them the news they hunger for. It’s like a restaurant, if a restaurant doesn’t serve food then no one will come to that restaurant. Feeding readers with useful information and doing it often is a good concept of blogging.
So, what’s your blogging frequency?

Depends on the weblog (I’m writing 3 at this time), but most of them are updated daily.

see the real weblogs which are making way in top 100 technorati favorites can not rely on 1-2 posts daily. Weblogs like Engadget,Gizmodo, lifehacker etc. to name a few post like 18-20 posts a day and one should check there sitemeter to get his eyeballs out more than half a million users everyday.
That is the frequency that makes a weblog equivalent to a news channel and gets big deals like weblogs inc. bought by AOL.

@Guillermo: its hard to keep up with three a day
@nitesh: it took money to hire many writers to post that many a day so, I guess it revolves around the investment plan

Just started my blog. I try to discipline myself to blog 1 post daily. Anyway, it’s not easy to write a long post, so I write a short one to keep it going… It’s, OK?

before my break.. I was posting twice a day… but I’m considering slowing down to one. It’s hard to post two quality posts a day and work on other side things all at once.

yeah posting more than one quality post per day is hard and for those with a part time job or who are busy with other matters, it can be very difficult

Well I was originally going to post twice a week, but I noticed that when I went a few days without posting, my Technorati ranking would suffer. As soon as I made a new post, the ranking went up! So I will probably be posting at least once per day.
