As crazy as it sounds it’s true. A Muslim French woman, Algerian descent, lost her virginity to her ex-boyfriend and to avoid disappointing her finance whom she is planning on to marry she went to the nearest clinic and had her hymen re-sewn back.

This 30-minute outpatient procedure, called “hymenoplasty” and costing between 1,500 and 3,000 euros ($2,000-$4,000), is increasingly popular among young women of North African descent in France.

France is home to over 5 million Muslims and the numbers are rising. Many of them, ages 18-45, have lost their virginity. To them being a virgin before marriage is heavily pressured from family and society and the women, they’ll do anything to regain it.
